Due to COVID 19 testing arrangement, Tsui Wah 2 or other chartered ferry has to be deployed temporary for following sailings between Central and Sok Kwu Wan for around 10 days.

Since we are arranging all our staffs to proceed COVID-19 test, starting from 12th January 2021 (Tuesday), the following sailings between Peng Chau and Central (Monday to Saturday) will temporarily performed by “Xin Jie” and “Xin Ying” from NWFF:

Few HKKF Staff tested Positive for COVID-19 Thorough Sterilisation of Pier and Vessels Continued (Revised)

(11 January 2021, Hong Kong) HKKF was informed by the Centre of Health Protection of Health Department that three staff were tested preliminary positive for COVID-19, including a Pier Assistant and two Wheelhouse Assistants.

The three crew members tested preliminary positive yesterday, 10 Jan, are confirmed positive today. HKKF continues to enhance its cleaning and sterilisation of the vessels and piers.  HKKF will strive to maintain its scheduled service to our best.

The Pier Assistant works at the Central Pier 4 responsible for freight ticketing. She was last on duty on 10 Jan. Two Wheelhouse Assistants were last on duty on 9 Jan. They served various routes for Lamma Island, Peng Chau, Hei Ling Chau and the Three-Runway. They all wore mask while on duty and their body temperature were normal when reported to work.  They did not travel outside Hong Kong recently.   

In addition to the cleaning and sterilisation implemented, HKKF contracted professional cleaning company to clean and sterilise all piers, including Central Pier 4, Central Pier 6 (Western Berth), Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier and Peng Chau Ferry Pier. All vessels will be cleaned and sterilised again shortly.

HKKF continues to redeploy the manpower and lease appropriate vessels and crews to maintain our scheduled ferry services. We will keep close contact with the Transport Department and monitor the latest development. The company will announce the latest news and adjust our services accordingly when required.

For the staff’s virus protection, all frontline staff must wear facial mask while on duty, measure body temperature when report to work, and always be cautious on personal hygiene. If any staff is unwell or has fever, they must visit the doctor immediately and take leave. The company has provided adequate protection gear to staff, such as mask, protective eyewear and gloves.  Non-contact infrared body temperature measure device is provided to supervisors to monitor the body temperature of frontline staff.  All staff must alert the company if they travel outside Hong Kong.

HKKF Staff tested Positive for COVID-19 Thorough Sterilisation and All Staff Testing Arranged Ferry Service uninterrupted

(10 January 2021, Hong Kong) HKKF was informed by the Health Department that a Coxswain was tested positive for COVID-19 while another three crew members were preliminary positive. 

All ferries and piers have been cleaned and sterilised thoroughly.  With immediate effect, all our staff has arranged to take the COVID-19 test. 

The Coxswain was last on duty on 7 January and later tested positive for COVID-19.  Three other crew members are preliminary positive including two Engineers and one Sailor.

One of the Engineers was last on duty on 6 January while the others were last on duty on 9 January.  These four crew members were on duty on various routes for Lamma Island, Peng Chau, Hei Ling Chau and the Three-Runway. 

They all wore mask while on duty and their body temperature were normal when reported to work.  They did not travel outside Hong Kong recently. 

HKKF immediately cleaned and sterilised all vessels, piers, public areas & facilities   staff rest area, etc. 

Furthermore, the company arranged all staff to take the COVID-19 test.  Staff with close contact with these four crew members are now on leave.  We will closely monitor their health conditions.

We have redeployed the manpower, and our ferry service continues to run as scheduled.  If needed, HKKF will lease vessels from other companies to maintain the normal ferry service.  

HKKF will keep close contact with the Transport Department and monitor the latest development.  We will announce the latest news and adjust our services accordingly when required.

Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry extends 24/7 Fare Concession to Lamma and Peng Chau Routes to next February

(24th December 2020, Hong Kong) Hong Kong and Kowloon Ferry Holdings Limited (HKKF), operating three ferry routes to Yung Shue Wan and Sok Kwu Wan in Lamma Island as well as Peng Chau, will extend its 24/7 fare concession till end of February 2021.

Up till 28th February 2021, the adult single ticket from Central to Yung Shue Wan, Lamma Island will be decreased from $17.8 to $15.5 on Monday to Saturday, whereas the adult single ticket will be decreased from $24.7 to $21.5 on Sundays and public holidays. 

The adult single ticket from Central to Sok Kwu Wan, Lamma Island will be decreased from $22 to $19 on Monday to Saturday, whereas the adult single ticket will be decreased from $31 to $27 on Sundays and public holidays.

From Central to Peng Chau, the adult single ticket on Ordinary Ferry and Fast Ferry will be decreased from $15.9 and $29.6 to $14 to and $26 on Monday to Saturday respectively, whereas the adult single ticket on Ordinary Ferry and Fast Ferry will be decreased from $22.8 and $43.5 to $20 and $38 on Sundays and public holidays respectively.  (Please see attached table for concessionary fare details:http://bit.ly/FareConcession2020_Extension)

HKKF awarded the ferry license of Lamma Island and Peng Chau for the next five years

(8th September 2020, Hong Kong) Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Limited (HKKF) is awarded the outlying island ferry license by the Transport Department to operate the three routes from Central to Yung Shue Wan, Sok Kwu Wan in Lamma and Peng Chau from 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2026. 

 

Ms. April Lam, the General Manager of HKKF, welcomes the decision and the company will launch a series of upgrading services in the next five years ranging from ferry software to hardware.

 

To meet with the needs of passengers, the company will adjust or extend the present ferry schedule and issue new types of ferry tickets such as student monthly tickets and multi-ride tickets.

 

Piers and vessels facilities will be further enhanced by adding priority seats on ferries and monthly ticket express passage at piers.

 

In line with developing Hong Kong into a Smart & Green City, HKKF will upgrade its website and develop new mobile phone applications in providing real-time information such as ferry arrival time and seat vacancy availability.

 

Also, the company will participate in the vessel subsidy scheme to replace its existing fleet gradually and add new vessels with more eco-friendly design.

 

Ms. April Lam said, “Under the strike of Covid-19 pandemic and the economic recession in Hong Kong, our patronage number has been dropping continuously.

 

“Definitely, we will face a hard time ahead. Only until the present patronage number rises back to the level of 2018, our operation pressures will be eased.”

 

New ferry tickets, an increase of no more than five percent. Details will be announced closer to the date.

Wear Face Mask On Board The Ferry

To tie in with the HKSAR Government’s New Regulation of Prevention and Control of Disease (Wearing of Mask) (Public Transport) Regulation under Cap. 599I from 0.00am of July 15, 2020 (Wednesday). Passengers must wear the face mask on board at all times. If a person does not wear a mask in accordance with the requirement, staff may deny that person from boarding a public transport carrier or entering the area concerned, as well as require that person to wear a mask and disembark from the carrier or leave the said area.   A person who contravenes the relevant provision commits an offence and the maximum penalty is a fine at level 2 ($5,000).

HKKF's preventive measures on combating “COVID-19”

To combat “COVID-19” in Hong Kong, HKKF has taken the corresponding preventive measures as follows:

 

  1. HKKF has enhanced the cleaning of piers, ferry cabin and air-conditioning systems with antiseptic solution or diluted bleach solution. 
  2. Alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) dispensers have been installed at the ferry piers for passengers and frontline staffs.
  3. HKKF has posted related notices and increased new broadcast in vessels and piers to remind passengers to wear face mask, maintain good personal hygiene, etc.
  4. To prevent the spread of germs, frontline staff is required to wear face mask when on duty.
